I had the strangest dream last night! What do you think it meant?
I haven’t thought of him in years… why would he show up in a dream?
Is it possible God was directing me through my dream?
My mom and I had the same dream last night… How is that possible?

As a Christian I believe it’s important to understand our dreams. If we believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God then we accept that God chose dreams to connect with His people. (Matt 1:20, 2:13, 27:19, Gen 20, 28, 37 and many more passages). Which raises the question: if God spoke through dreams then… isn’t it possible He still does today?
As a doctor of psychology I’ve studied and utilized the therapeutic value of dream analysis. Understanding our dreams is highly useful and nothing at all to be afraid of. Dreams come from many sources, but mostly through what’s going on in our lives. Solomon understood this when he wrote, “A dream comes when there are many cares.” Ecc. 5:3. What Solomon called cares (problems, worries, anxieties, etc.) often surface in our dreams. Understanding them is powerful, useful and I believe honoring to God.
